Today at SCL International kindergarten, our English teachers had teacher training by our head foreign teacher Edgar. The teachers looked at many types of young learner attributes according to their age. Edgar gave the teachers many examples and situations on how to help and assist children according to their individual needs. Our other English teacher Rachel also gave a small follow up about the different intelligences. Rachel gave the English teachers some tips and advice on other teaching methods for the English class setting.
Teacher training is an isolated requirement in the teaching learning process and usually a secondary need for the system to run effectively. Teaching and learning goes hand in hand which makes it necessary for the schools to have teacher training modules which are well knit in the curriculum and should cater to the demands of teaching fraternity which may arise during the teaching learning process. A good teacher training program should be like a support for teachers to sharpen their tools as and when required. Our English teachers will continue to learn new methods and broaden their knowledge to give our children at SCL the best English education!
