Today at Soong Ching Ling we had our first English open class. Rachel did a lesson with IK3B that covered the importance and helpful phrase of “Wash your hands”. This follows the new IEYC curriculum unit “This is Me!”, with the goal of teaching how to take care of myself and others. Washing hands is important skill that takes care of our health and the health of others around us.

The children were eager to begin the lesson and learn. They learned the words necessary for washing hands, such as hands, wash, soap, and water. The children were able to use these new words to apply them to a song about washing hands.

The children sang and did actions to remind them to wash their hands. We worked together and counted 1-10, in order to find out how we can wash our hands. The children were able to demonstrate that they know what to do when it comes to washing our hands.
