农历九月初九，为传统的重阳节，又称登高节，民间还有重九节、茱萸节、菊花节等说法。重阳节早在战国时期就已经形成，到了唐代，重阳被正式定为民间的节日，此后历朝历代沿袭至今。

The ninth day of the ninth month of the Lunar calendar is known as Double Ninth Festival. It goes by many monikers such as the Dogwood Festival or Chrysanthemum festival to name a few. The Double Ninth Festival was formed in the Warring States Period. the Tang Dynasty, the Double Ninth Festival was officially designated as a folk festival, successive dynasties have carried on the tradition since. Double Ninth Festival, also known as "Senior Citizen's Day", relates to traditional Chinese values of caring for and respecting our elders. 

重阳节又叫"老人节", 尊老、敬老是中华民族的传统美德。重阳节带给我们的不是登高、赏菊、吃重阳糕,而是一种信息:老年人更需要爱、需要健康、快乐。他们需要的也许并不是你的金钱,不是保健品，而是你一声深情的问候,"家家有老人,人人都会老",关爱今天的老人,就是关心明天的自己。

The Double Ninth Festival is not just about celebrating Chrysanthemums and eating Chongyang cake, but sending a wish for, health, happiness, and love for our elders. They don’t need money or health products, but love and affection. “Everyone grows old eventually”, and teaching children that they should love those who have grown old, teaches an important moral value.

儿童是祖国的未来,为了更好地从小培养他们敬老爱老的优良习惯,幼儿园在重阳节这个特殊的日子里，组织孩子们用自己的方式表达对爷爷、奶奶等老人的关心和爱护，让孩子们体验与老人间浓浓的亲情,这也是主题“我爱祖国”的活动延伸，意在让孩子们感受中华传统美德，能把享受“长辈的爱”的感情进行迁移,让孩子们去爱自己身边的每一位老人,帮助弱者,在生活中自然地走进感情的世界,体验幸福生活的喜悦，同时也让老人们为自己孩子的成长与进步感到欣慰与骄傲。

 Children are the future of the world and teaching respect and love creates a strong future.On the day of the Double Ninth Festival, the kindergarten helped the children to express their concern and love for the elderly, such as grandfathers and grandmothers.  Children expressed their affection in the theme of, "I love the motherland".  This theme allows children a chance to experience and feel Chinese traditional virtues. This love and affection not only affects the children but the elderly people in their lives as well. The children’s expressions stir pride in elderly people, as they see the growth and caring nature of the children.
