Thanksgiving Day is a holiday celebrated in the United States and Canada to thank God for a good harvest and the Indians for their help. There was no fixed date for Thanksgiving at the beginning, and it was decided by the states of the United States on a state by state basis. It was not until 1863, after American independence, that President Lincoln declared Thanksgiving a national holiday. In 1941, the United States Congress officially designated the fourth Thursday of November as "Thanksgiving Day". Thanksgiving holidays usually last from Thursday to Sunday.

Thanksgiving Day is a Western holiday. After the Song and Song Dynasties of multicultural education, a series of thanksgiving activities were carried out in classes around the Thanksgiving Day. Today, we walked into classes to see their Thanksgiving activities!

Every Thanksgiving Day, families eat turkey and other traditional dishes, such as vegetables, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin pie. It is a time for family to come together and share in a warm meal.

Rachel led by the picture book "Little Breakfast", she took the children’s hand-prints to make a "Turkey". Look at the fun the kids are having!

The origins of Thanksgiving Day go back to the beginning of American history. In 1620, the famous ship “Mayflower” arrived in America with 102 people. They met with unimaginable difficulties, suffering from hunger and cold. After the winter, only 50 or so of the migrants who survived were left. With the help of the Indians, the new immigrants from Europe became used to the local way of life. On the day of the harvest, the New Settlers invited the Indians to give thanks to the God.

LULU teachers tell the story of Thanksgiving Day and some of the customs, the children we able to listen carefully!

"This is my Thanksgiving card, I can't write but I can draw. I thank Grandma every day for sending me to the kindergarten.  I also thank the teacher for teaching me new skills. I can eat by myself now, I can dress myself."

"I thank my mother for giving birth to me, my father for driving me to the kindergarten every day, and my teacher for teaching me new skills every day!"

Gratitude embodies the educational concept of Soong Ching Ling. It is our responsibility to cultivate a thankful heart.

Gratitude is not only a virtue, but also a state of being. Gratitude is one of the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation. Everyone should have a grateful heart. We should remember to thankful for our lives, our, parent, our teachers, and our friends.
