In the afternoon, the English teachers met to discuss the November IEYC unit of “Toy Shop”. The teachers began their reflections by looking over the standards and identifying the standards that each kindergarten level has met.
Following this, teachers shared examples and anecdotes from the children’s English learning in the past month. With this in mind, the English teachers could assess the unit and identify ways in which they can teach the IEYC topics effectively in the future.
These types of meetings are essential for encouraging communication and reflection as we embark in implementing our new curriculum, the IEYC.
