Today Teacher Amy of IK4A had her English Open Class in the morning.

The topic of the month is Weather Wonders and the topic of the day was Snow and Snowy weather.

The class opened with greetings and every day life questions then Amy played a song related to the topic of the day.

After the song, the kids reviewed what they previously learned about the weather. The focus then shifted to snowy weather and what the kids can do in case of snowfall. Snowman and snowball were then the words of the day. 

The first activity was to simulate a snowfall.

All kids were provided a cardboard with double tape on it and pieces of shredded paper. Following Amy’s directions the kids dropped the pieces of paper on the cardboard simulating a snowfall, the paper stuck on the double table served as base for the snowman. Every kid made a snow man using sticks and play dough.

The next activity was to replicate a snowball using paper. All children had a paper sheet that they crumpled. Having their own snow ball all kids followed Amy outside for a snow ball fight.

After the class as usual all english teachers gathered in a meeting to discuss and share opinions. The good discipline of the kids and the well behaviour were praised by all teachers and at the same time some useful suggestions came up.
